The Food Standards Agency Wales will be showing how easy it is to eat a healthy, balanced diet, cook food properly and store provisions safely when its exhibition resource visits Cardiff next week.
The Agency’s new 12-metre trailer will be visiting Working Street, Cardiff on Thursday, 24 October (9am to 5pm). Anyone with an interest in food is welcome to hop on board, and try out the interactive computer games aimed at encouraging everyone to think about food safety and the benefits of a healthy diet.
Healthy eating for the over 65's will be particularly relevant on Thursday, as the Agency’s visit coincides with a Keep Well This Winter (KWTW) event being held in the Central Library, Bridge Street. KWTW aims to help older people keep warm, well and safe during the winter months and the Food Standards Agency Wales acts as a partner organisation in the campaign by providing healthy eating advice.
Jayne Griffiths, an Executive Officer for the Food Standards Agency Wales, said: 'I am sure that Thursday will be a busy day, and we look forward to receiving many visitors. Our interactive displays will appeal particularly to those on half term breaks, and our advice on healthy eating will be of interest to those older people who are visiting the Keep Well This Winter event nearby. Even so, anyone with an interest in food is very welcome - so come along and see us!'
