The Food Standards Agency Wales will be bringing its unique mix of consumer advice, education, fun and feedback to the Royal Welsh Show this year (22 – 25 July 2002).
The Agency’s stand will play host to a number of events guaranteed to provide something for everyone.
A Cinderella pantomime and live cookery demonstrations are among the events planned for the Agency’s exhibition unit in Avenue D, stand 346.
The panto, in which Cinderella and friends work to overcome poor food hygiene in the kitchen, will be performed in English and Welsh several times a day, every day of the show.
On Wednesday, visitors can learn how to prepare healthy and nutritious meals in minutes during live cookery demonstrations featuring celebrity chef and TV personality Gilli Davies.
Dilwen Phillips, a member of the Agency’s Advisory Committee for Wales, will compere the demonstrations which will take place throughout the day.
The work of the Agency and the latest food issues will be discussed in an open meeting of the FSA Advisory Committee for Wales on Tuesday, 23 July 2002.
In line with its commitment to operating openly and in public, the committee of food experts will be publicly discussing food imports and other food related issues, before opening the floor to a question and answer session where audience members can highlight their own concerns about food.
The ACW open meeting starts at 9:40am and takes place in the Hospitality Suite, stand F461, Avenue G.
In addition to these events, there’s plenty on offer at the Food Standards Agency Wales stand. Visitors are invited to try their luck on our interactive computer games promoting food safety and the benefits of a balanced diet.
There’s also an opportunity to find out how we’re working to enforce food law, improve food labelling and become Wales’ most reliable source of advice and information about food.
