Agency seeks community projects for AFAL awards

Building on the success of its AFAL (Awards for Food Action Locally) Scheme over the past five years, Food Standards Agency Wales is inviting applications for the 2009 awards. The AFAL awards recognise individual or team contributions to local nutrition initiatives that have made a positive influence on the diet or eating habits of residents in the communities within which they operate.

To meet the growing demand for information about nutrition and healthy eating, Food Standards Agency Wales has made its eatwell website available in the Welsh language.
Calling food business operators in Wales

Food Standards Agency Wales will be holding a seminar for food business operators to discuss a new proposal for a Regulation on the provision of food information to consumers from the European Commission.
The seminar is being held as part of the public consultation exercise due to end on 2 May 2008.
