The Food Standards Agency was launched in Wales, as in the other countries of the UK, on 3 April 2000. Our commitment is to improve food safety and standards in Wales and protect the health of the population of Wales in relation to food.

The officials who carry out the Agency’s work in Wales are the Director Wales (Steve Wearne) and some 31 members of staff with a range of policy and professional expertise.
