Public Attitudes Tracking Survey

Friday 16 October 2009

The Agency conducts a tracking survey among consumers on a quarterly basis to monitor changes in consumer attitudes towards the Agency and food related issues.

The survey has monitored attitudes since 2001. It covers three main areas:

The latest survey, carried out in December 2009, can be found at the links below.

The previous surveys from 2001 to September 2009 are included in a full quarterly analysis at the links below. The September 2008 survey can also be found at the links below. This shows the additional questions that were asked on awareness of the 5-a-day message, concern about particular types of foods and the foods people are trying to eat less of. These questions have previously been asked in the Agency's annual Consumer Attitudes Survey (CAS). The CAS is currently being reviewed and was not run in 2008; it is being replaced with a new attitudes and behaviour to food survey, which will start in spring 2010.
