Cooking on a low income The CookWell Book

Tuesday 6 May 2003

Download the CookWell Book Tutors Pack

The objective of the CookWell initiative was to develop, implement and evaluate a transferable, community-based, food skills (cookery) programme aimed at increasing consumption of starchy foods, fish, vegetables and fruit and decreasing consumption of fat in adults living in areas of deprivation.

The project and the manual (tutors pack and participant recipe book) have been promoted in Fare Choice the newsletter of the Scottish Community Diet Project.

The CookWell Book - a training manual produced by the project - contains a selection of healthy and easy-to-follow recipes and would be useful for anyone aiming to establish a cooking skills group in their local community.
