Listen to this siteA review of the Food Standards Agency's research (C03) and survey (C04) programmes on food contaminants has been completed. The review encompassed around 60 surveys and research projects on mycotoxins (e.g aflatoxins, ochratoxin A, patulin), nitrate and process contaminants (e.g 3-MCPD, ethyl carbamate and acrylamide) in food.

Two separate meetings, attended by representatives from the food industry, consumer organisations, laboratories and other Government departments, were held on 18 April 2005 on mycotoxins and nitrate, and 19 April 2005 on process contaminants.
