F01001: Methods for the official control of probiotics (micro-organisms) used as feed additives

This research project aims to develop an analytical method for the official control of probiotics (micro-organisms) in animal feedingstuffs.

Results available.

F01002 (CS0118): Effects of commercial-scale processing on the integrity of DNA in animal feed

This project aims to assess the effects of commercial-scale processing on the integrity of DNA in animal feeds.

Results available.

F01003: The determination of vitamin D 3 in feeds and pet foods

This research project aims to determine an official control method for vitamin D 3 in animal feedingstuffs.

Results available.

F01004: Detection of transgenic protein and DNA in bovine milk and the effect of transgenic substances on nutrient digestion and milk production in dairy cows

This research project aims to determine the fate of transgenes in the digestive tract, and to determine whether or not transgenes (and their products) can be detected in animal tissues and milk.

Results available.

F01005: Investigation into the levels of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and dioxins in feed material.

This research project was commissioned to collect and provide data on levels of dioxins and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in 80 samples of feed materials from companies located in the United Kingdom.

Results available.

F01006: A study of pig kidneys condemned at slaughter with particular reference to gross and microscopic lesions and ochratoxin A content

This research project aims to study pig kidneys that were condemned at slaughter for evidence of gross and microscopic lesions being caused by ochratoxin A.

F01007: Literature review of the safety and suitability of Bacillus species for use as probiotics in animal nutrition

This research project will undertake a literature review on the safety and suitability of Bacillus (and Brevibacillus ) as probiotic supplements in animal feedingstuffs.

Results available.

F01008/9: Determination of the dioxin and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) content of animal feed samples for an EC member state collaborative study.

This research project was commissioned to collect and provide data on levels of dioxins and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in 158 samples of animal feed from the United Kingdom.

Results available.

F01010/11: Determination of the dioxin and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) content of animal feed samples for an EC member state collaborative study.

This research project was commissioned to collect and provide data on levels of dioxins and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in 163 samples of animal feed from the United Kingdom.
