Details of Agency-funded projects under the Food Authenticity research programme (Q01).

Q01034: Compilation of local regulations in the EU on chaptalisation of wines

This research project aims to produce a working document that will show how much sugar can be legally added to wine in each region of the EU.

Q01047: Verification of “organic meat production” by detection of permitted and not-permitted uses of veterinary medicines

This research project aims to develop methods to differentiate between therapeutic and prophylactic use of veterinary medicines in animals, this could help enforce labelling claims.

Q01048: Determination of authenticity of provenance of high quality tea products through the use of DNA fingerprint profiles

This research project aims to collect DNA profiling information on different varieties of tea into a database.
