Advisory Committee on Pesticides

The Advisory Committee on Pesticides (ACP) is an independent body which advises Ministers on all matters relating to the control of pesticides. Members provide scientific advice on the safe and effective use of pesticides and other pest control methods.

Professor James Parry (an independent consultant in genetic and molecular toxicology from the University of Wales) has been appointed as the FSA nominee to the Advisory Committee on Pesticides (ACP). His appointment starts in January 2008 and his role will be to offer expertise in the area of food safety/risk assessment and provide advice on public health and food safety.
