Programme of Mini Surveys

This series of surveys aims to provide up-to-date information on the levels of sodium (salt), fat, sugar and a limited range of other nutrients, in processed foods. Results of the surveys are used to raise consumer awareness of related food and diet issues and help them to make their own informed food choices.

The results of these surveys also inform discussions with the food industry, and other bodies, aimed at encouraging changes in the composition of processed foods. The mini surveys are not intended to be a comprehensive examination of an entire product sector. Instead they provide a broadly representative snap shot view, based on a selection of well known and widely available products on the market.
