Food chain analysis included both a high level analysis across all food safety risks to identify strategic priorities, and more detailed analysis on key food chains to better understand the sources of risks and control options.
The analysis involved working with policy teams and experts across the FSA to gather data and evidence, including drawing on research and work undertaken by other countries, and to help draw robust findings from the analysis.
An intersessional paper on the proposed methodology was submitted to the Board in May 2008. This can be downloaded from the link below.
