Sainsbury's recalls a batch of own brand Freefrom Rich Fruit Cake Slices due to accidental contamination with low levels of gluten

The above gluten-free and wheat-free product may be unsafe for people with a gluten intolerance or wheat allergy/intolerance as it contains low levels of gluten from wheat. This makes the product a potential health risk for people with a gluten intolerance or wheat allergy/intolerance.

Brand: Sainsbury's Freefrom
Best before date: 04/11/10
Pack size: 160g

Action taken by the company:

Sainsbury's is recalling the affected product from sale and has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will inform their at-risk members of the withdrawal.

Notices will be displayed in all stores to alert consumers to the reasons for the withdrawal, and the actions they can take if they have purchased the product.

No other Sainsbury's products are known to be affected.

Advice to consumers:

Customers who are sensitive to wheat and gluten are advised not to consume this product.
