KTC Edibles withdraws Lasco brand Coconut Cream Powder due to incomplete allergen labelling of milk

Thursday 18 February 2010

Allergen: Milk (labelled only as sodium caseinate without reference to 'milk')

Ref: F/2010

Product:

Coconut Cream Powder

Risk:

The product contains milk, which is labelled in the ingredients list only as sodium caseinate without additional reference to ‘milk’. This makes the product a potential health risk for people who are allergic or intolerant to milk or milk constituents.

Action taken by the Company:

The company is voluntarily withdrawing the product it distributes in the UK from sale and is over-stickering it with correct allergen labelling. The company has also contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, who will inform their at-risk members of the withdrawal.

No other Lasco brand products are known to be affected.

Advice to consumers:

Customers with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents are advised not to eat or drink this product.
