Asda withdraws one date code of Asda Extra Special Double Chocolate Cookies due to a packaging error resulting in undeclared allergen information

Asda Extra Special Double Chocolate Cookies

Risk:

Due to a packaging error, the above product actually contains Asda Extra Special Double Chocolate and Hazelnut Cookies. As a result, the presence of hazelnuts is not declared on the label, although there is a 'may contain traces of nuts' warning. Therefore, this is a potential health risk for individuals who are allergic to nuts.

Asda Extra Special Double Chocolate Cookies 200g

Best before: 21 August 2010

Action taken by the Company:

The company has withdrawn the affected product and has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, who will inform their at-risk members of the withdrawal. Point of sale notices will be displayed in all stores to alert consumers.

No other Asda products are known to be affected.

Advice to consumers:

Customers with an allergy to nuts are advised not to eat this product.
