ASDA withdraws its Garlic and Herb Coleslaw 300g due to incorrect allergen labelling information

Risk:

ASDA Brand Prawn Coleslaw 280g, use by 05/05/2010 has mistakenly been packed using a Garlic & Herb Coleslaw 300g lid. The presence of shellfish is not indicated on the Garlic & Herb Coleslaw lid. The product is, therefore, a potential health risk for individuals with an allergy to shellfish.

Action taken by the company:

ASDA has withdrawn the affected date code of this product from sale. In addition, the company has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will inform their at risk members of the withdrawal. Notices have been displayed in all stores to alert consumers, and to inform them of the actions they can take if they have purchased the product. No other ASDA products are known to be affected.

Advice to consumers:

Customers who are allergic to shellfish are advised not to eat this product.
