Empire Food Brokers Ltd withdraws a further Hershey’s Chocolate Reeses Cookies product due to a labelling error that did not declare the presence of peanuts

Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Dipped Reeses Cookies

Risk:

The above product contains peanuts that are not declared on the label, resulting in incorrect allergen information. This product is, therefore, a potential health risk for individuals with an allergy to peanuts.

Product identification:

Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Dipped Reeses Cookies, 255g

The affected product was sold in Selfridges stores on or after 2 August 2009 to 23 October 2009

Action taken by the company:

The UK distributor Empire Food Brokers Ltd has withdrawn the affected product from sale. In addition, the company has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will inform their at risk members of the withdrawal. Notices will be displayed in Selfridges stores to alert consumers to the reasons for the withdrawal, and the actions they can take if they have purchased this product.

No other Hershey’s products are known to be affected.

Advice to consumers:

Customers who are allergic to peanuts are advised not to eat this product.
