Waitrose Deliciously Different Thai Red Chicken Curry with Wild Rice, Pak Choi and Red Peppers

Risk:

Some packs of the above product have been produced with the wrong labelling that does not state the presence of shrimp paste in the ingredients list. Therefore, allergy information for shellfish is not declared on the label. The product is, therefore, a potential health risk for individuals with an allergy to shellfish.

Waitrose Deliciously Different Thai Red Chicken Curry with Wild Rice, Pak Choi and Red Peppers, 390g
Use by: 6, 7, 8 and 9 November 2009.

Action taken by the company:

Waitrose Ltd has withdrawn the affected date codes from sale. In addition, the company has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will inform their at-risk members of the withdrawal. Notices have been displayed in all stores to alert consumers to the reasons for the withdrawal, and the actions they can take if they have purchased the product. A copy of the point of sale notice issued by Waitrose Ltd can be downloaded below.

No other Waitrose Ltd products are known to be affected.

Advice to consumers:

Customers who are allergic to shellfish are advised not to eat this product.
