A batch of Rotstern Crispy Rounds Confectionery has been found to contain peanut protein which is not declared on the label

Risk:

A batch of the above product has been found to contain peanuts (peanut protein) which has not been declared on the label. This makes the product a health risk for people who are allergic to peanuts.

Product Identification:

Rotstern Crispy Rounds, 60g
Best before: 18/10/2009

Action taken:

The product has been manufactured in Germany and imported into the UK by Tiger Retail Ltd. The Agency is aware that the product has been sold in Tiger stores who have voluntarily withdrawn the affected date code of this product.

The Agency is currently investigating with Germany the possibility of further distribution within the UK and any actions they intend to take with regards to this product.

In addition, Tiger Retail Ltd has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations who will inform their at-risk members of the withdrawal.

No other Rotstern products are known to be affected.

Advice to consumers:

Customers with an allergy to peanut or peanut constituents are advised not to eat this product.
