Due to a manufacturing error, a small batch of Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference Steak and Ale Pie contains celery, which is not declared on the ingredients list. This makes this product a potential health risk for people with an allergy to celery.

Action taken by the company

Sainsbury’s Supermarkets Ltd has recalled the product and contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will inform their at-risk members of the recall. Notices are being displayed in all stores to alert consumers to the reasons for the recall, and the actions they can take if they have purchased the product.

Advice to consumers

Customers with an allergy to celery are advised not to eat this product.
