Tesco Stores Ltd withdraws a batch of 2 Spotted Dick Sponge Puddings due to undeclared egg

Jam sponge puddings, containing egg have been packed in the Spotted Dick Sponge Puddings packaging and egg is not declared on the label. This makes the product a potential risk for people who are allergic to egg.

Action taken by the company

Tesco Stores Ltd has withdrawn the affected batch. Notices are being displayed in all stores where the product is sold to alert consumers to the reasons for the withdrawal, and the actions they can take if they have purchased the product. In addition, the company has been in contact with the relevant allergy support organisations.

No other Tesco Stores Ltd products are known to be affected.

Advice to consumers

Customers with an egg allergy are advised not to eat the product, but to please return the product to the store for a full refund.
