Sainsbury's withdraws two of its Freefrom products due to the presence of undeclared gluten

Risk

Routine testing undertaken by Sainsbury’s has identified that these products may contain traces of gluten. Therefore, these products are a potential health risk for gluten allergic or intolerant individuals.

Product Identification

Sainsbury’s Freefrom Stuffing 113g
Best Before dates up to and including March 2009
Sainsbury’s Freefrom Breadcrumbs 113g
Best Before dates up to and including April 2009

Action taken by the Company

The company has withdrawn the affected products from sale and has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations which will inform their at risk members of the withdrawal. Notices are being displayed in all stores to alert consumers to the reasons for the withdrawal and the actions they can take if they have purchased the products.

No other Sainsbury’s products are known to be affected.

Advice to consumers

Customers with an allergy or intolerance to gluten are advised not to eat these products.
