Tesco Stores Ltd recalls certain batch codes of Tesco Continental Plain Chocolate 74% Cocoa due to a packaging error resulting in a risk of potential presence of milk allergen not being declared

The product being recalled is:

Due to a labelling error, certain batch codes of the above product, which have been found to contain milk protein, are not labelled to indicate the potential presence of milk. This makes the product a potential health risk for people who are allergic to or intolerant of milk or milk constituents.

Action taken by the company

The company has withdrawn and is recalling any remaining product of the affected batch codes from sale. All future production of this product will be labelled to convey information on the risk of milk to people with a milk allergy. In addition, the company has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations which will inform their at risk members of the withdrawal. Point-of-sale notices will be displayed instore.

No other Tesco Stores Ltd products are known to be affected.
