Poundland withdraws a batch of Churchfield's Fine Foods Dark Chocolate due to the unintended presence of milk protein

A batch of the above product has been found to contain milk protein, which is not an intended ingredient. This makes the product a potential health risk for people who are allergic to, or intolerant of, milk or milk constituents.

Action taken by the company

The company has withdrawn the affected batch from sale. All future production of this product will be relabelled to convey information on the risk of possible cross contamination with milk. In addition, the company has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations who will inform their at risk members of the withdrawal.

No other Poundland products are known to be affected.

Advice to consumers

Customers with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents are advised not eat this product.
