Boots withdraws a batch of No Added Sugar Diabetic Chocolate Crisp Bars (3 pack) due to the presence of an undeclared allergen

Risk

There is a possibility that a small number of cases of Chocolate Crisp boxes have been packed with Peanut & Almond bars. This poses a potential risk to customers suffering from allergies to nuts.

Action taken by the company

Boots has undertaken a product withdrawal of the affected batch. Product alert notices will be displayed in store to alert consumers to the reasons for the withdrawal, and the actions they can take if they have purchased the affected product. Advantage card customers will also be notified by letter. In addition, Boots has been in contact with the Anaphylaxis Campaign and Allergy UK who will inform their at-risk allergic members of the withdrawal via a mailshot. A copy of the product alert notice to be issued by Boots is attached below.

No other Boots products are known to be affected.

Advice to consumers

If you know you are allergic to nuts, please return the product to your nearest Boots shop, where you will receive a full refund.
