Teaching tools for Northern Ireland

Resources developed to help teachers throughout Northern Ireland enable young people to learn how to choose, cook and eat safe healthy food.

Myfoodspace

Myfoodspace is an interactive DVD-ROM developed to help teachers engage young people (9 to 11 years) in learning about food labelling within the background of healthy eating and a balanced diet.

Play eatwell bingo

The eatwell bingo game is a fun way of encouraging players to get the balance of their diet right by using the eatwell plate. The aim of the game is to use the eatwell plate model in an interactive bingo game that makes learning about healthy food choices interesting and fun. Instead of calling out bingo numbers, the game features nutrition messages where players find out food facts along the way.

Beat the Bingo Bug!

To help stop the rise in food poisoning in the over 60s caused by the food bug listeria, the Food Standards Agency Northern Ireland, safefood and district councils in Northern Ireland have produced a game packed with hygiene messages. The game is called 'Beat the Bingo Bug!'
