Pork incident update

Following the Food Standards Agency's recent announcement that Northern Ireland pork is not affected by contamination and remains unaffected by the contaminated feed incident, the Republic of Ireland authorities have now put in place measures to restore supplies of Irish pork and bacon.
'Home grown' stars throw weight behind healthy eating calendar

FSA Board Agrees Meat Charging Proposals

The Board of the Food Standards Agency today agreed to recommend new proposals to reform the charging regime for the regulation of the UK meat industry. At its meeting in Cardiff, the Board also reaffirmed its support for small rural abattoirs as the new charging policy develops.
Northern Ireland coldstore found guilty of breaches against hygiene legislation

The Food Standards Agency Northern Ireland (FSANI) has welcomed today's decision, at the County Court division of Fermanagh, to uphold the conviction of a meat coldstore in County Fermanagh for offences under food hygiene legislation. The company has been fined a total of £6,500 for breaches of these regulations.
New research for National Food Safety Week 2008

A survey released today by the Food Standards Agency Northern Ireland (FSANI) and safefood to mark National Food Safety Week (9-13 June 2008) revealed that almost a quarter (24%) of people in Northern Ireland risk food poisoning because of how they do their grocery shopping.
