Food Alert For Information on a blue background
Morrisons has recalled tubs of its own-brand Toffee and Pecan ice cream with a 'best before' date of April 2011, because the product may contain pieces of black rubber. The Agency has issued a Food Alert for Information.
Point-of-sale notices will be displayed in stores, explaining to customers why the the product has been recalled. If you have bought the product you can return it to your nearest store for a full refund.
The recalled product is:
No other Morrisons products are known to be affected.
If there is a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold, then it might be 'withdrawn' (taken off the shelves) or 'recalled' (when customers are asked to return the product). Food alerts are the FSA's way of letting local authorities and consumers know about problems associated with food and, in some cases, providing details of specific action to be taken.
