The FSA Northern Ireland and the Department for Health, Social Services and Public Safety are holding a conference for food businesses on how they can help tackle obesity in Northern Ireland.
Called 'Healthy Public, Healthy Profits?', the conference will give delegates the chance to consider the 'Northern Ireland Strategic Framework for Obesity Prevention'.
Many food businesses are already taking responsible steps to improve the health of Northern Ireland consumers through providing healthier options and helping them make informed choices.
This event will offer a unique opportunity for all sectors of the Northern Ireland food industry, including manufacturers, caterers, retailers and suppliers, to provide information and knowledge to influence Government policy ahead of any public consultation.
Delegates will hear from speakers who are key players in the food industry at both national and local levels. There will also be an opportunity to share expertise on plans and actions being taken to prioritise consumers' health.
The FSA wants to obtain the food industry's views on the obesity prevention framework and discussions on this subject will be facilitated by members of the Northern Ireland Food Advisory Committee.
'Healthy Public, Healthy Profits?' takes place on Wednesday 13 January at the Hilton Hotel, Templepatrick.
