The Food Standards Agency is looking for organisations and individuals to apply to be part of a framework that will carry out social science research to support the development, monitoring and evaluation of food policy.
The researchers, from across the academic, commercial and charity sectors, will be selected through a competitive process and those with the most appropriate expertise will be invited to join the framework. These organisations and individuals will work to an agreed set of terms and conditions, and will enter into a contract with the Agency. The framework will enable the Agency to commission social science research more effectively in future.
The framework will be split into the following areas:
Applicants who are not selected for the Agency’s framework may be added to a separate list of suppliers who are keen to be involved in delivering Agency social science research. This list will be used to provide additional expertise and, subject to the agreement of organisations and individuals, their details will be made available to those on the framework to augment expertise in relevant areas.
Further information and details of how to apply can be found at the link below. If you have any more questions you can contact Siân Thomas, Social Science Research Unit, Food Standards Agency ( sian.thomas@foodstandards.gsi.gov.uk ).
The deadline for applications is 3pm Friday 10 September 2010 .
