Open invitation to meeting on Agency’s use of scientific evidence

The General Advisory Committee on Science (GACS) is issuing an open invitation to its second meeting, which will be held in London on 29 October.

GACS offers independent challenge and advice on how the Food Standards Agency collects and uses scientific evidence. The group is made up of 13 experts and two laypersons, and it is chaired by British neuroscientist Professor Colin Blakemore.

At the meeting the committee will be discussing:

Booking : Admission is free, but advance booking is necessary. Contact the GACS Secretariat at gacs@foodstandards.gsi.gov.uk or on 020 7276 8277. The closing date for bookings is 24 October.

Submit a question

The advisory committee is keen to hear views on its work. As a trial for its second meeting, it is inviting comments and questions in advance of the meeting. If you would like to submit a question or comment, please email the GACS Secretariat at gacs@foodstandards.gsi.gov.uk . The deadline for questions is 24 October. Please note, the committee cannot guarantee to respond to all questions.
