Food Safety Week will be taking place this summer between 9-13 June, with a range of events being run across the UK in schools, community groups and local councils, to highlight the importance of food safety and hygiene in the home. Why don't you find out what events are being organised in your local area?
This year, the Agency is creating an exciting new theme for Food Safety Week, based on the 4 Cs (cooking, cleaning, chilling and cross-contamination). It will be unveiled on this website and our consumer advice site (External) eatwell.gov.uk on the 9 June.
To support events being organised locally, a range of publicity materials will be available, free of charge. Although the Food Safety Week theme will remain 'top secret' until the week itself, you can pre-order the following items:
Items can be ordered from foodstandards@ecgroup.co.uk or 0845 606 0667 and will be delivered in mid-May, giving you the opportunity to plan and refine your food hygiene events.
If you are interested in organising your own event during Food Safety Week to promote good food hygiene, please register your details at foodsafetyweek@ecgroup.co.uk and include 'Register' in the subject line.
Foodlink has previously organised Food Safety Week and has a host of resources available on its website that could give you ideas for organising events and activities.
