about us
Food Safety Week will take place next year from Monday 9 June to Friday 13 June inclusive, the Food standards Agency (FSA) has announced today.
The UK-wide campaign aims to raise awareness of good food hygiene practice, encouraging local authorities, schools and communities throughout the country to focus on the best ways to avoid food poisoning.
The FSA, which this year replaced the Food and Drink Federation as lead sponsor of the event, made the announcement following a meeting with the 'foodlink' partners that have been the main supporters of Food Safety Week in the past. The Agency also intends to engage additional partners, expanding the work in 2008 to target vulnerable groups, those that care for them and people in education.
A new advertising agency, FARM, has been appointed to help the FSA develop this work.
To receive future updates and details for the event in 2008, make sure that you have registered your details at foodsafetyweek@ecgroup.co.uk and include 'Register' in the subject line.
