More than 20 schools have already registered to apply for a visit from the Agency's Cooking Bus.
The Food Standards Agency has developed its Cooking Bus in partnership with the Focus on Food campaign, to pursue the common objective of raising food standards, particularly to promote healthy eating and improve food hygiene. There have already been nearly a thousand visitors to the Cooking Bus microsite, which you can access via the link below.
For 42 weeks a year the bus sets out to different destinations around the country where its two teachers work with school staff to inspire children and highlight the importance of food education, while supporting the national curriculum and teachers' own work objectives.
From 8 December 2003 the Cooking Bus will be in West Yorkshire, taking healthy eating and food hygiene messages to Thornhill Junior and Infants School in Dewsbury. On 15 December it will be at St Edmund's RC Primary School in Whitton, Middlesex.
