December 2009 update on Official Controls

This update includes the text of a draft Commission regulation that will amend Regulation (EC) 669/2009. The Commission is hoping to present the proposed regulation to the Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health (SCoFCAH) on 12 January 2010. Comments are invited by 6 January 2010.

The European Commission's implementing rules under Regulation (EC) No 669/2009 on increased level of controls on imports of high-risk feed and food of non-animal origin (non-POAO) from third countries will come into force on 25 January 2010.
