Esteban Espuña, S.A. (Spain) has withdrawn certain date batches of Chorizo Sarta Fort/Scharf Hot, due to the possible presence of Salmonella Typhimurium .

The Agency has been informed that Esteban Espuña, S.A. has withdrawn the affected products, which have been distributed to a number of companies within the UK. The affected products have been withdrawn from outlets supplied and point-of-sale notices have been displayed. Consumers are advised not to eat the affected products.

The products withdrawn are:

Chorizo Sarta Fort/Scharf Hot, 200g

Best before dates: 08/06/09 and 11/06/09
Lot numbers: 90002, 90003, and 90004
A copy of the product packaging can be viewed below.
No other Esteban Espuña, S.A. products are known to be affected.
