Sainsbury’s Supermarket Ltd has recalled a batch of its own-brand Strawberry Pencils (75g) confectionery product, due to small pieces of metal being found in the product.

Sainsbury’s Supermarket Ltd has recalled the affected batch from sale. Product recall notices will be displayed in all stores. These notices alert customers to the recall and advise them of what actions to take if they have purchased the product.

The product recalled is:

Sainsbury’s Strawberry Pencils, 75g
Best before end: July 2009
Batch codes: L-H 8213-3

No other Sainsbury’s products are known to be affected.

SAINSBURY'S PRODUCT RECALL

SAINSBURY'S STRAWBERRY PENCILS (75g)

It has come to our attention that a limited number of the above confectionery product may contain small pieces of metal.

As a precautionary measure, we are asking all customers who have bought this product to return it to their nearest Sainsbury's store, where they will get a full refund.

Only products with a best before date of July 2009 and a batch code of L-H8213-3 printed below the barcode are affected.

No other products are affected by this issue, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
