Walkers Snack Foods Ltd has withdrawn a limited number of Walkers crisps multi packs across two date codes, due to the possible presence of small pieces of black rubber within the product. Walkers Snack Foods Ltd has confirmed that the rubber does not pose a risk for those with a latex allergy.
Walkers Snack Foods Ltd has undertaken a product withdrawal of the affected batches. Product withdrawal notices will appear in the national press on 12 August 2008. These notices will advise customers of the reason for the withdrawal and the actions they can take if they have already purchased the affected products.
The affected products are:
Walkers Crisps Multi-Packs: 21 packs for 14 promotional pack; 21 pack; 28 pack
Individual pack size: 25g
Best before: 13/09/08 and 20/09/08 (marked on multipack wrapper)
Further coding on multipacks:GBL 2** 182 ( where ** can be any number)
Time coded between: 02:00 and 06:00 inclusive
Coding on individual packets: Best before 20/09/08
GBL 2** 182 ( where ** can be any number)
Time coded between:
02:00 and 06:00 inclusive
Flavours implicated: Ready Salted, Cheese and Onion, Salt and Vinegar, Prawn Cocktail, Worcester Sauce, BBQ Rib.
A copy of the product withdrawal notice issued by Walkers Snack Foods Ltd is attached to this Food Alert.

No other date codes or Walkers products are known to be affected.
