Tesco has recalled two date codes of two of its own brand houmous products, due to the presence of salmonella.

Tesco has removed from sale all other date codes of these products as a precautionary measure and issued Point of Sale notices in its stores. These notices will advise customers to contact the Customer Service Desk to find out the reason for the recall and the actions they can take if they have already purchased the affected product.

The products recalled are:

Tesco Chicken Topped Red Pepper Pesto Houmous
Pack Size: 205g
Use by: 23 April 2008

Tesco Red Pepper Pesto Houmous
Pack Size: 200g
Use by: 24 April 2008

No other Tesco products are known to be affected.
