Update on Waitrose recall of seed products due to salmonella contamination

Food Alert for Information 41/2007 issued on 21 November concerned a recall of certain date codes of Waitrose Wholesome Mixed Seeds 250g, due to the presence of salmonella. The Agency has been advised that Waitrose has now recalled all batches of Wholesome Mixed Seeds 250g as well as two further products due to the presence of salmonella.

Waitrose has removed the affected products from sale and has displayed updated point-of-sale notices in its stores as of 23/11/07. These notices will advise customers of the reason for the recall and the actions they can take if they have already purchased the affected products.

The products recalled are:

All batch and date codes of the above products are being recalled.

A copy of the product recall notice issued by Waitrose is attached to this Food Alert.
