Asda Stores Ltd has recalled all batches of its own-brand 500g packs of 'Simply Porridge' due to possible cross contamination with nuts.
The affected packs may contain nuts, which makes this product unsafe for individuals who are allergic to nuts.
Asda Stores Ltd will be placing product recall notices in national press as of 2 November 2006 and point-of-sale notices have been displayed in all stores to alert customers to the recall.
The notice explains the actions to take if customers have purchased the product. In addition, Asda Stores Ltd has been in contact with the Anaphylaxis Campaign and Allergy UK and advised them of the recall.
A copy of the product recall notice issued by Asda Stores Ltd is attached to this food alert.
No other Asda Stores Ltd products are known to be affected.

We test everything we sell to make sure that it's safe to eat.
Recently some traces of nuts have been found in our Asda Simply Porridge, which shouldn't be there.
Any customer who suffers from nut allergies could be affected by this product, so that's why we're taking it off our shelves.
We're asking all of our customers who might have bought this porridge to bring it back to their nearest Asda store and we will give them their money back.
As always, we are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
No other products are affected by this recall.
