British Bakeries recalls a batch of Scottish Plain Batch Bread 800g loaves due to possible contamination with metal fragments

British Bakeries has recalled one batch of Scottish Plain Batch Bread 800g loaves due to possible contamination with metal fragments. The batch recalled was packed under two brand names, Mother�s Pride and Tesco. The contamination occurred after an isolated mechanical failure at one of British Bakeries Scottish bakeries.

British Bakeries has placed product recall notices in the national press today (31 May 2006). These notices will inform consumers what actions they should take if they have purchased the product. The affected loaves were available at retail outlets as from 29 May 2006.

The recalled products are:
Mother�s Pride Scottish Plain Batch Bread 800g Medium cut
Tesco Scottish Plain Batch Bread 800g

The recalled batch code is:
Best before 1 June 2006

No other batches or British Bakeries products are known to be affected.
