Food Alert: for Information
Ref: 33/2006 (35/2006 Scotland)
Thomas Tunnock Ltd has recalled certain batches of own brand 4 and 8 carton Snowballs and 4 pack Caramel Log Wafers due to packaging errors resulting in incorrect labelling information.
The Snowballs contain gluten, which is not declared in the ingredients list or contained in an allergy advisory statement on the outside package. The internal wrapping on the individual Snowballs is correct. The Caramel Log Wafers contain soya, which is not declared in the ingredients list or contained in an allergy advisory statement on any part of the packaging. This makes these products unsafe for individuals who are allergic to or intolerant of gluten and/or soya.
Thomas Tunnock Ltd has withdrawn the affected batches of the Snowballs and Caramel Log Wafers. A notice has been placed on its website alerting all customers to these errors. In addition, Thomas Tunnock Ltd has been in contact with Allergy UK, Coeliac UK and The Anaphylaxis Campaign, which will inform its gluten and/or soya allergic members of the recall via a mailshot.
The products withdrawn are:

Best Before Date;
Up to and including 07 October 2006
Tunnock Caramel Log Wafers

Best Before Date; Up to and including 09 December 2006
