Pluma UK Ltd recalls a batch of Duck Orange & Cream Pate and Farmhouse Style Pate due to a labelling error

Friday 9 June 2006

Food Alert: for Information

Ref: 30/2006 (32/2006 Scotland)

Pluma UK LTD has recalled a batch of La Rochelle brand Duck Orange & Cream Pâté 150g and Farmhouse Style Pâté 150g. These products have been incorrectly labelled with the ingredients and allergy information for the other variety of pate.

As a result, the packaging on both products does not display either a correct ingredient list or allergy advisory statement. The omission of the correct ingredients and an allergy warning from the label makes these products unsafe for individuals who are allergic or intolerant to milk, mustard and wheat/gluten.

Pluma UK Ltd has undertaken a full product recall. Point of sale notices will be displayed in all Booker Cash & Carry branches as of 9 June. In addition, Pluma UK Ltd has been in contact with the Anaphylaxis Campaign, which will inform all of its dairy, mustard and wheat/gluten allergic members of the recall directly via a mail shot.

The products recalled Are:
La Rochelle 150g Duck Orange & Cream Pâté
Date Code Use By: 4th August

La Rochelle 150g Farmhouse Style Pâté
Date Code Use By: 28th July

A copy of the point of sale notice issued by Pluma UK Ltd is attached to this food alert.
