Co-op withdraws its own-brand ready salted and assorted crisps due to undeclared ingredient information

Co-op has withdrawn all batches of its own-brand multi-pack ready salted and assorted crisps (containing ready salted flavour crisps) due to a cross contamination error resulting in the presence of milk in this product.

The ready salted flavour crisps in these multi-packs have been found to contain casein (from milk), which is not labelled. These products may be unsafe for people with a milk allergy or milk intolerance.

The Co-op has undertaken a product withdrawal of all batches. Point-of-sale notices will be displayed in all stores to alert consumers to the reasons for the withdrawal and the actions they can take if they have purchased the affected products. In addition, the Co-op has been in contact with the Anaphylaxis Campaign and Allergy UK, which will inform their milk allergic members of the withdrawal via their websites and direct mailing to members.

The products withdrawn are:
Co-op Ready Salted Crisps 6 X 25g packs
Co-op Assorted Crisps 6 X 25g packs

All use-by dates are subject to the withdrawal.
