Tuesday 25 October 2005

Food Alert: for Information

Ref: 61/2005 (60/2005 Scotland)

The Ryvita Company Ltd has recalled a batch of Ryvita Original Crispbread 250g due to a packaging error, which meant a small batch of Ryvita Original Crispbread packs contain the Ryvita Multigrain variety.

The affected packets do not show the correct ingredients or allergy advisory statement and contain soya and sesame seeds as ingredients, which makes this product unsafe for individuals who are allergic to or intolerant of these ingredients.

Allergy alert notices are to be placed in local press and point-of-sale notices have been issued to the Ryvita Company Ltd customers for display in stores. In addition, the Ryvita Company Ltd has been in contact with Allergy UK and the Anaphylaxis Campaign which will inform all their soya/sesame seed allergic members of the recall via a mailshot.

The product recalled is:
Ryvita Original 250g
Best Before: 03.12.2005
Batch number: 3A 5175
