Product withdrawal of Galaxy brand milk drinks due to microbiological contamination

Masterfoods has withdrawn three batches of its Galaxy brand milk drinks range, pack size 230ml due to microbiological contamination. Results showed raised levels of Bacillus cereus .

Masterfoods has undertaken a product withdrawal of the affected item. Point-of-sale notices will be displayed in stores to notify the public of the withdrawal. The notice advises consumers of the reason for the withdrawal and the actions they should take if they have already purchased the affected product.

The product withdrawn is:
Galaxy Milk Drink, 230ml

Affected batches:
Best before 28/01/2006 & Batch code 2AD3
Best before 04/02/2006 & Batch code 2AD3
Best before 04/02/2006 & Batch code 2AD4

No other Masterfoods products are known to be affected

Galaxy Milk Drink

As a precaution, three batches of GALAXY MILK drinks (230ml size only) are being withdrawn from sale because some of the cartons may not be sterile.

The affected product carries one of the following combinations of Batch and Best Before codes:
2AD3 - 28.01.06
or
2AD3 - 04.02.06
or
2AD4 - 04.02.06

If you have an affected carton do not drink it. Instead, return it to Masterfoods Consumer Care, FREEPOST, Melton Mowbray, LE13 0BR for a full refund. For further information call: 0845 0450042.

No other Masterfoods products are affected.
