Nestle UK Ltd recalls two batches of Kit Kat promotional packs due to potential contamination with small metal particles

Heads of Environmental Health and Directors of Trading Standards will wish to be aware that Nestle UK Ltd has recalled two batches of their promotional packs containing 10 bars of two finger milk chocolate Kit Ka$h due to the possibility of the product containing small metal particles. The potential contamination was thought to have been incorporated as a result of faulty production equipment, which has since been fully investigated.

Nestle UK Ltd has undertaken a product recall of the affected batches of the promotional packs. Product recall notices will appear in the national press on 30 November 2005.These notices will advise customers of the reason for the recall and the actions they can take if they have already purchased the affected product. The two batch codes affected have only been supplied to Tesco Supermarkets Ltd and retailed between 18 November 2005 and 28 November 2005. Tesco Supermarkets Ltd has withdrawn the two affected batches from sale. A copy of the product recall notice is attached to this alert.
