Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd has recalled all batches of 100g packs of sunflower seeds due to possible cross-contamination with nuts.
The affected packs may contain nuts, which makes this product unsafe for individuals who are allergic to nuts.
Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd issued product recall advice to customers with nut allergies. Allergy alert notices have been placed in the national press today and point-of-sale notices have been displayed in all stores to alert customers to the recall. The notice explains the actions to take if customers have purchased the product. In addition, Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd has been in contact with the Anaphylaxis Campaign which will inform all their nut allergic members of the recall via a mail shot.
The product recalled is:
Sainsbury's Sunflower seeds, 100g
Best before: All codes
Batch number: All batches
A copy of the allergy alert notice issued by Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd is attached below.
No other Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd products are known to be affected.

Please note that our 100g packs of sunflower seeds may contain traces of nuts, which is not mentioned on the packaging.
Customers with nut allergies are asked to return the seeds to their nearest Sainsbury's store where they can get a full refund.
No other products are affected.
We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience this may cause.'
