Waitrose has initiated a product recall covering 11 of its own brand name products due to the possible presence of foreign objects, specifically bristles from a cleaning brush. The affected products recalled, which are all chilled ready meals, are listed as follows:
The only packs affected are those with use by dates between 24 August 2005 and 5 September 2005. The company advise that the affected products should not be consumed and should be returned to a local branch of Waitrose for a full refund.
No other Waitrose products are known to be affected.
A copy of the product recall notice issued by Waitrose is attached to this food alert and a consumer helpline has been set up by the company (Tel: 0800 188884).
